As a counselor specializing in working with twice-exceptional individuals, I offer a unique and supportive space if you or someone you love are both gifted yet face challenges related to disabilities or other cognitive differences. I understand that being twice-exceptional can often leave someone feeling as though they don’t fit into either world. They may feel disconnected from peers who are gifted because social skills or emotional regulation don’t come as easily, and they may struggle to relate to others with learning disabilities because their intellectual strengths set them apart. These experiences can leave the person feeling isolated, misunderstood, or even overlooked. My goal is to help bridge the gap between these worlds, creating a personalized path that honors both exceptional abilities and the areas where difficulty is faced.
In our work together, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where challenges can be explored without fear of feeling misunderstood. I use a strength-based approach, acknowledging an individual's gifts while also addressing the obstacles that may stand in their way. Whether it's improving social skills, developing coping strategies, or navigating academic and personal pressures, I tailor sessions to meet my client's unique needs and strengths. I understand that this journey is complex, and I’m committed to supporting my clients in building confidence, finding balance, and feeling accepted for who they truly are—both in their strengths and in their struggles. You are not alone, and together we can help you thrive in ways that honor your full, exceptional self.
