In a world where social expectations and norms are central, living as a person within the autism spectrum can be stressful and daunting. It can also be beautiful and rewarding.
Many different therapies exist for individuals who identify as being Autistic. Common interventions include behavioral, developmental, educational, pharmacological, occupational, and psychological therapies. These can all be valuable, helpful, and wonderful interventions...if implemented well. Yet at times, these interventions may have been about CHANGING you, rather than EMPOWERING you.
At Inclusive Minds Counseling, I offer something a bit different. Here, you will find a gentle approach focused on relationship: Relationships with yourself, those you love and the world around you. In addition to offering emotional safety and genuine acceptance, my diverse background and training allows me to incorporate a variety of different therapeutic interventions to help those who experience their world through the unique lens that comes with being Autistic.
Taking a strengths-based approach. I take special care and consideration to ensure you feel understood, heard and celebrated. Together we will process what it is like to experience the world as someone who is neurodivergent and we will make meaning of your experience. I will listen attentively to your needs and work to help each individual feel less isolated or anxious and more connected and accepted. Our work will help you feel more at ease and confident, so that you can live a more fulfilling life!
